WillPack has now been trading for over 30 years, making it one of the oldest surviving companies drafting Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and other legal documents for the professional sector, such as IFAs, accountants, mortgage brokers.
Becoming a Partner with WillPack gives you the security of using a ‘back office’ Will Writing company allowing you, as a professional to offer your clients a service without ever having to write a Will. Our aim is to make the process as simple as possible for you to provide your clients with professionally drawn documents as straightforward as possible without it becoming a burden on your time.
Whether Will Writing is the main focus of your business or if you offer Wills as an additional service alongside your current business; we can help you build your business and add further value.
Financial Advice and Will Writing have always gone hand in hand. It’s a time where people assess the assets they have and look to plan for the future. As a Financial Adviser you will no doubt recommend to your client’s that they write or a review their Wills when they have a change in their financial or personal situation, but with the hassle associated many will not get around to following your advice.
Why send them to see a Will Writer, solicitor or risk them completing a DIY Will, when Financial Advisers are best placed to offer the advice. You have already built a trusting relationship and know the intricate details of their finances, so can help them put together a concrete plan to look after their loved ones.
With families frequently straying from the traditional stereotype and tax legislation being more complex than ever a simple Will may not be the only planning your clients need. This has led to the use of trusts in Wills becoming commonly necessary to ensure your clients wishes are accurately documented. For client’s with children from previous relationships a Trust is key to ensure their children are not disinherited. Trust’s not only add many different avenues of estate planning but as the document’s produced are more complicated it results in a larger profit for you.
By offering your clients a Will Writing service you:
All work is covered under WillPack’s insurance so you won’t need further qualifications to have complete peace of mind.
As the amount of mortgage approvals is still less than half it was a few years ago we have had an influx of Mortgage Brokers looking to widen their portfolios and boost their profits. When people have a significant change to their financial situations it is highly recommended that they review or write their Wills. It seems only logical that whilst you are offering your usual service you are able to offer advice on Wills and estate planning.
Forget the stereotypes that only the older generation write Wills, just as many people in their thirties (and some even younger) are writing Wills to protect their families. The only way to control who will look after minor children should you pass away is by naming guardians within a Will. In today’s climate of complicated families, unmarried couples and children with multiple partner’s it has never been more important for the younger generation to put planning measures in place.
Not only will a lot of your clients need to write a Will, you can advise them on the best way for them to own the property they intend to buy and then recommend an array of trusts to protect their assets after they have passed away. Property Trust Wills are becoming a normal part of estate planning to protect a partner, spouse or civil partner whilst ultimately benefiting children, particularly those from previous relationships, or other nominated beneficiaries. When children from previous relationships are involved the only way to stop them from being disinherited is through a Trust.
Starting out in Will Writing can be a daunting task, particularly if you are a sole trader. There can be a large amount of regular fees you must account for such as insurance, drafting software and membership of a regulatory body such as the Society of Will Writers. You must ensure that you have satisfactory knowledge to advise your clients on your own. Whilst you are finding your feet in the world of Will Writing, why not become a WillPack partner.
Your ongoing costs will be reduced, as all you will need to pay is an annual affiliate membership fee to the Society of Will Writers and a cost to us for each document we produce for you. Best of all, for an initial fee of £175 we will cover your first year’s affiliate membership of the Society and give you access to our online-based training course. All work we complete for you is covered under our insurance, including the advice you give to your clients relating to these documents.
We offer free and unlimited technical advice relating to Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and related legal documents to assist you in every step of the process. A number of information leaflets are also available to you on the partner area of our website.
By submitting your work to us, rather than drafting it yourself, we offer a second opinion over what you have suggested to your clients. Whilst starting out in will writing, this can be invaluable to ensure that you are giving the correct advice to clients and offering the correct services to them.
For more experienced Will Writers, there are still benefits to becoming a WillPack partner.
If you are going through busy periods of work, and you are struggling to meet your turnaround times with your clients, why not consider passing the instructions you have taken to us to draft rather than turning new work away or passing them onto another Will Writer. We will never contact your client directly allowing you to retain your relationship with your client, ensuring that they will return to you for their future needs and any referrals gained from those clients will be yours.
If you have a client whose circumstances are particularly complex, why not consider passing those instructions to us to draft. This offers a second pair of eyes to look over your recommendations to ensure that what you have offered is suitable and for us to offer suggestions if we believe there are better options available.
Providing that you are already a member of the Society of Will Writers, the only additional cost you will have is for each document we produce for you.
