Formalising Will Trusts After Death

Agenda: The webinar will look at the process of formalising a will trust after death,  focussing mainly on dealing with property trusts such as protective property trusts. This will include:

• What happens if nothing is done?
• What steps are advisable?
• Rules of trust registration
• Further work that may be required, such as changing trustees

Business Property Relief and Will Drafting Considerations

Agenda: BPR is a potentially very valuable relief for IHT for clients who own qualifying businesses. There are however a number of considerations that need to be given when drafting a will to ensure that the most is gained from the relief and avoid it being wasted. We will cover a brief introduction for BPR before going into detail in will planning options for dealing with BPR. This will include the implications of S39A IHTA 1984, when BPR could be “wasted” and how to avoid this, and when trust planning may be beneficial.
