WILLPACKOur most frequently
asked questions

How does the service work?

You will use a Testamentary Instruction Form to document your clients wishes. These instructions are then sent to us for our preparation (we recommend that you keep the original and only send us a scan or copy). Upon completion a draft copy of the documents will be sent by secure digital means for you to approve and make any amendments where necessary. Once approval has been given the professionally presented final documents are then sent to you for your client to sign and attest.

What if I need some technical assistance?

Should you require technical assistance before or after taking instructions for a client then we offer unlimited technical support. You can email as many times as required. Email enquiries are required for insurance purposes and also minimise any misunderstanding therefore we are unable to provide technical assistance by telephone.

Can you draft Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney for clients who live in Northern Ireland or Scotland?

Unfortunately, both Northern Ireland and Scotland have a separate legal system to England and Wales and, as such, we are unable to draft Lasting Powers of Attorney or Wills for clients residing in either of these countries. We can, however, draft Wills for clients residing in those countries to cover any immovable assets that they may own in England and Wales.

How do I charge for my services?

As we are only your back office, you decide how much to charge your clients and we charge you a set fee dependent on the services being drafted. Our price list shows guide prices for all of our services for you to work from if you wish.

Do you provide training?

Yes, WillPack offers online-based training. Please contact us for more information. Additionally, the College of Will Writing in Lincoln run a variety of courses which may be of use.

How much does it cost to join?

Our joining fee is £175 but this includes access to our online-based training course and the first year of your Society of Will Writers affiliate membership (it is a requirement of being a WillPack Partner that you are an affiliate member of the Society of Will Writers, the annual fee for which is currently £85 per annum). This fee entitles you to unlimited technical assistance, your affiliate membership to the Society of Will Writers, access to the College of Will Writers, monthly CPD tests and discounts on all College of Will Writers training courses.

Will each of my wills be checked for legal validity?

We have legally trained staff that make sure each bespoke Will is correctly drafted and is legally binding. Further to this, if there is an opportunity for further estate planning based on the client’s details that we have been provided, we may contact you with information that you can present to your client for their consideration. You also have a duty of care to your clients to read over the Will and advise us if there is anything you don’t understand.

I wish to store the wills for my clients. Does WillPack offer storage?

WillPack does not offer storage, however you are welcome to arrange to store your client’s Wills and other documents through The National Will Archive. Contact The National Will Archive for more information on the options available.

How long does it take to produce the wills and documents once I have submitted the instructions?

We guarantee that you will receive drafts within our standard time scale of 7-10 working days as long as all the required information has been provided.

Suppose I need the documents sooner than 7-10 working days, or even next day, is this possible?

Yes, WillPack offers two Express Services: drafts within three-days and drafts on the same day as submission (as long as this is before 2pm). There is a small surcharge for both these services.

Does WillPack offer Digital Storage?

WillPack does not offer digital storage, however, you are welcome to store your client’s digital items through Safe-4. Contact Safe-4 for more information on the options available.

How do I receive final documents?

All of our documents are issued using Royal Mail first class post as standard. If you need to ensure the documents arrive the next day, we can use Royal Mail Special Delivery (by 1pm) at a further cost. If the case is urgent, or out of preference, we can issue the final documents using a secure digital system.
